Megan (Winkeljohn) Peters, was born and raised in Quincy, IL. She is a proud 2000 Blue Devil “A-Building” Alum of Quincy Senior High School; involved in all theatre, band, orchestra, and chorale programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2004 from Millikin University. She spent the majority of her twenties in Chicagoland, working as an Event Planner for the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, and later as a Senior Business Travel and Catering Sales Manager for the Hilton Orrington. She eventually moved back to her beloved hometown of Quincy to marry her love, Dominic, and raise their four children: Dylan (12); Alex (10), Maryn (7), and Owen (5). When she’s not busy being mom and living in her SUV to run them to their various activities (cross country, gymnastics, dance, etc), she is the firm-wide recruiter for all eight offices of Klingner & Associates (headquartered in Quincy, IL). Megan takes great pride in connecting people in roles that help them thrive in their careers. Being employed with Klingner for almost 15 years, she considers it a blessing to work for such an incredible employer who values their people and the overall work/life balance that is required of a mom. When Megan is not busy with family or work, she finds her mental outlet as vocalist and oboist in the popular local band, Gypsy Tango Foxtrot. She has grown up as a performer and still enjoys volunteering at Quincy Community Theatre. Recent volunteer roles include Marian Paroo in the “The Music Man” (2023), and Velma Kelly in “Chicago” (2021). Megan has also been proud to be a participant in various local fundraising campaigns over the years, including Encore’s “Fairytale Tea Party”; The Salvation Army’s “Unmasking the Singer” (2022 Winner); Cornerstone’s “Dancing with Local Stars”; and YWCA’s “A Voice for all Women”. She was also a member of The Quincy Service League for several years and Chaired the “Monotones” Project. Megan is proud to live in a community that values and promotes the fine arts. She believes that music just enriches lives and is the best medicine for the heart and soul. QSO holds special meaning to her, as she has fond memories as a child enjoying her mother, Lana, as principal oboist for many seasons. Megan appreciates your votes, and will do her best to help deliver a memorable performance of “Sleigh Ride” with some of the most talented musicians in the Quincy area.
